ABOUT ME

I'm a qualified humanistic counsellor and therapist. I'm an Accredited Member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work according to their ethical framework.

I bring a range of life experiences to my work with clients and have worked clients from different walks of life who are diverse in terms of age, gender, class, sexuality, ethnicity/cultural background, disability, neurodiversity.

I have worked as a therapist at a substance recovery service and for local counselling services. I have also provided counselling support to clients from public, private and charity sectors presenting with a wide range of personal and workplace difficulties.

Alongside my private practice, I provide support to students at Roehampton University who are experiencing mental health difficulties and/or are neurodivergent. I have worked as a visiting lecturer teaching humanistic therapy at Goldsmiths University and I currently work as a Teaching Assistant on the Diploma/MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy programme at the Metanoia Institute.

Before I trained to be a counsellor, I spent many years working within universities in administrative roles. Deciding to pursue a completely different line of work to actually completing my counselling training marked a significant period of transition for me. Working as a volunteer education mentor at Love to Learn (a refugee homework charity) and as a volunteer emotional support mentor at Kid's Company (a charity supporting young people ) were key experiences that led to my decision to train as a counsellor.
